THE TIME TO THINK FOUNDATION PROGRAMME

Do you want to create a team where your team members are creative and work collaboratively?
Do you want to generate the best performance as a team?
Do you want to be inclusive and celebrate difference within your team?
Some of the challenges we face today are those created yesterday. We see increasing sophisticated victims of dependence on the thinking of others through fear of not being right, rather than being able to generate their own best thinking. We see disappointment from not being listened to, rather being faced with another simply waiting to speak. We see decisions based on what we already know, from our homogenous thoughts, rather than welcoming the thoughts and ideas from the difference our generations, nationalities and individuals bring.
If you answered yes to the questions above, here is how I can help:
“The quality of everything we do as human beings depends upon the quality of the thinking we do first” – Nancy Kline
So what does it take for us to think for ourselves with rigour, imagination, courage and grace?
It seems that what helps us think well for ourselves is the way in which we are treated by other people around us.  There are 10 behaviours that seem to help the most.  These we call the 10 Components of a Thinking Environment®.   To apply these, together with structures for good thinking in pairs and groups, is to improve the quality of everyone’s thinking and of the outcome of every interaction. To increase performance, to be our natural creative selves, to be resilient in the face of complexity and uncertainty.
I am a member of Time to Think Global Faculty, an Accredited Time to Think Coach, Facilitator, Teacher, and have trained predominately with Nancy Kline, the pioneer of the Thinking Environment. Connecting with the Collegiate regularly provides me the opportunity to develop my freshest thinking and practice in the on-going developments of the Time to Think approach.
I am passionate about creating an environment for others to generate more of their independent thinking. I believe that by listening more to others, both the listener and the speaker become more, as individuals. I am keen to facilitate others to experience the profound impact of generating independent thinking in this world of increasing competition, complexity and time pressure.

During this 2-day course you will:

  • Discover the high quality thinking the 10 behaviours produce.
  • Discuss the importance of this expertise for working superbly as colleagues, leaders and teams.
  • See a Thinking Partnership Session and its effectiveness in producing thinking breakthroughs.

What others have said…

Financial Services
Practice Director

“In attending Jane’s Time to Think Foundation Programme, I valued the energy release from thinking out loud, the excitement generated through application and the approach has for all relationships in my life. I discovered that questions, carefully framed unlock so much potential. I will apply these applications for leadership development, collaborating with friends and most of all with my clients.”

Alison Beck
Organisational Development Consultant and Executive Coach

“Jane’s Developing a Thinking Environment 3 day programme provided a small safe environment and in particular I valued the quality of the interactions with Jane and with my fellow delegates, the 2 day + 1 day structure, the chance to practice and Jane’s role modelling of the approach in everything she does. As a result of this programme, for now, I am noticing better connection through more focused listening. Also, and very personally, the course has reignited my interest in coaching and my desire to refresh and extend my organisational development practice. It has changed my plans for 2016. We will see what exciting outcomes stem from that change!”

Elizabeth Arthur
Executive Coach and Facilitator.
“What I found most valuable about this programme was the learning and practical implementation of the applications.  It was tremendously useful and it was great to benefit from Jane’s experience that she graciously shared of the different scenarios she has encountered.  It was also very valuable for you to take the time, Jane, in sharing with us your experience of the best ways to set up each application with the group and how to manage the group dynamic.  Encouraging greater and deeper thinking and sharing throughout the 2 days.  I also really enjoyed the way you introduced our thinking questions into the flow of the course and enabled us to practice the applications exploring these topics, learning and discovering all of the time.”
Michael Butler
Non-Executive Director, Coach and Facilitator

“You truly embody the 10 Components in your work: the venue was great, the participants warm, encouraging and engaging and your facilitation of the programme was, as I said earlier, transformative. I enjoyed the programme immensely and my head is buzzing with new, and surprising thoughts–and I appreciate that very much.”

Shirley Greenaway
Leadership Coach and Facilitator

“I really enjoyed exploring the additional group applications, especially as I could see how to use and apply them in some of the work I do. The Transforming Meetings finale really pulled it altogether. I particularly liked learning in small groups.”

Katie Light
Programme Delegate

“I found this programme truly inspiring and profound and I learnt so much about how to listen, when to speak how to pace a conversation. I think everyone should learn how to listen like this. Paying attention without interruption is totally life changing. I can’t wait to do the next one. I would recommend to everyone I know, who has an interest in learning the art of listening.”

Gita Seva
Programme Delegate

“This is a first-class course on group meetings facilitation. It is inclusive and respectful to each meeting attendant. It taps into everyone’s talents, intelligence and potential in a deep way.

It empowers confidence. It stimulates creativity. It enthuses the heart.”

Programme Delegate

“An opportunity to openly explore in a learning space designed to offer a chance to view change: in our thinking and listening, all delivered in a carefully managed, friendly and supportive group environment. This is a warm and engaging learning space with a lot of opportunity to take away the growth that really matters for humans to make a change. The learning components of this model reveal a more valuable method to engage in a human centred conversation in all contexts. You will carefully explore and take away communication tools to be employed in a thinking environment: to help yourself and others to greater freedom and choice based on deep and wise listening. What’s not to love?!”

Janon Hamel
Programme Delegate

“A powerful content for any coach wishing to upgrade their game and their impact as a coach. It takes the coaching out of coaching and brings the experience of being together with a client to is deepest essence. The assumption of and trust in the brilliance of the client is lived and modelled at its ultimate. Heartfelt gratitude to Jane.”

Florentina Nacu
Executive Assistant

“The Time to Think Foundation program builds on the philosophy that the human mind thinks best in the presence of a question AND when uninterrupted. The same principles apply to a dialogue or a team meeting. The embodiment of the 10 components in Time to Think help generate peoples’ best thinking and can transform meetings into ideas powerhouses.”

Programme Delegate

“Jane, I LOVED the way that you created the time to think for us all and it was so easy to see the positive impact that this had on people; at a humanistic level and also from an outcomes level. I can learn so very much from you in terms of how you held time and were disciplined about this. I was genuinely staggered and awestruck by this and the positive impact it had. We got through so much over the two days.”
